Design Overview
The market hall is a gateway for the historic neighborhood to enter the Lock 3 civic park. It features a grand entrance that progresses downhill with the surrounding topography towards Lock 3.
Building Program
Vendor locations on the lower level are adjustable to accommodate a variety of organized functions. A large port located along the west side provides direct shipping access to the main market. The public space on the east side features a cafe with outdoor seating that overlooks the nearby park. In contrast to the large space of the open market, a bar is nested in the mid-level, and it is directly accessible from the central elevator or through a series of interior terraces that reflect the exterior landscape. Private offices on the upper floors lead to terraced outdoor spaces that are available for employees of the market.
